Il classificone – miglior disco del 2018: Low – Double negative

Quinto appuntamento con  la folle classifica di fine anno. Abbiamo come al solito conteggiato le classifiche di fine anno di 32 tra riviste specializzate, ma anche generaliste, webzine, negozi di dischi virtuali e quant’altro tra i più importanti e significativi del pianeta. Liste americane, canadesi, italiane, francesi, britanniche, nordeuropee. Vivisezionato 1600 preferenze (50 per ogni fonte) e messo in ordine di voti (a parità di voti hanno prevalso i dischi con maggior quantità di nomination) più di 600 album inclusi nelle liste. Ecco cosa ne è uscito fuori. Le liste prese in considerazione riguardano: New Musical Express, Mojo, Rough Trade, Spin, Stereogum, The Quietus, Rolling Stone, Pretty Much Amazing, Double J’S, Complex, Guardian, The Wire, The Guardian, Pitchfork, The Fact, Fopp, Billboard, Crack, Metacritic, Best Ever Album, Paste Magazine, The Line of Best Fit,  Q, Piccadilly, Time Out, Vinyl Factory, OndaRock, OndaRock (forum), Consequence of Sound, Les Inkorruptibles, Popmatter, Uncut.

Quest’anno dominio statunitense nella top 10, con al primo gradino del podio la svolta elettronica della band di Duluth (Low) seguito dal nu soul della splendida Janelle Monáe da Kansas City e dalla sorpresa di questo 2018, il punk crossover degli inglesi bristoliani  Idles sul terzo gradino.

Nella terza colonna sono indicati i punti totali ottenuti,  nella quarta le nominations, vale a dire in quante classifiche il disco in questione è entrato nelle singole liste top 50
